The break through of the teachers from the district of Neamtz began with the establishement in Romania of the statal local and national education, beginning with the second half of the XIX th century.
In 1896, by the enterprising of the teachers Gh. Nicolau, Simion Scutarescu and so on, it spring "The Society of the teachers" from the district of Neamt. It'a activity was continued and improved by the establishement in 1912 of "The Union of the Pedagogue" from the district of Neamtz", managed by Leon Mrejeriu.
In 1934 a group of brave pedagogues will inaugurate "The house of the Pedagogues" (The Opened House") which attracted the majority of the teachers from the Neamty county. In these headquarters also was "The Union of The Teachers from Neamtz" managed by Gheorghe Taranu.
The teachers from Neamtz developped the accumulated experience and expressed their opinions in the publications " The Review of the teachers from Neamtz", "Petrodava" and "The Apostle".
After 1948 "The Union of the Pedagogues and Teachers" was disolved and the headquarters of the "House of the Pedagogues" take another usage.
In 1970 it was established "Rhe House of The Educational Staff" having as a press executive he magazine "Educational Concerns", The first manager of the institution being the teacher Sofia Burculet.
The House of Teachers' Training functions in the municipality Piatra Neamt, the structure being on the Street Petru Rares No. 24.
It functions as a ressource, inovation and expertise center in the continuous training of the teachers, as a developping and implementing center by means which are specifical for the preuniversitary education reform and also as a center of initiating, organising of scientifical, cultural and leisure spending.
